Window Shutters In Our Home
When we moved into our house in 2014, G instantly said he wanted shutters for all the windows in our home. I was hesitant and had thought about curtains or blinds instead since it was a cheaper option and we'd already had so many outgoings for the house renovation. But I am glad he won me over because 4 years down the line, we both still love them and they have kept in excellent condition.
Our shutters were from the Shutter Studios, a family run business based in Shirley, Croydon in South East London and they stood out to us as soon as we walked into their shop with their exceptional customer service.
We were recommended to get MDF shutters as our budget was tight. MDF shutters are manufactured from engineered, off-cut timber that is bound and laminated to give a finished shutter, and they are so much more affordable than the solid wood options. The pricing was something like 3 times the difference!
Once they were installed, cleaning couldn't be easier. I just use a feather duster to run along each shutter and it's clean in an instant. They never really get that dirty and have stayed brilliant white in all these years we've had them.
If you guys are thinking of renovating your windows, I can't recommend shutters enough. They look modern and sleek, yet moulds in well with a rustic/farmhouse look and best of all, so easy to clean and open/close on a daily basis.
Do you guys prefer shutters or curtains?
