Isaac is Two
We are a slighty-Totoro-obsessed household, so it was fitting that I made another attempt at creating a Totoro cake, this time to be share with friends and family.
I knew I wouldn't have the time to go all out with a home baked dessert bar this time so instead, I bought a load of Chinese cookies from the Chinese supermarket and they went down a treat! There's a selection of egg roll cookies, cashew nut cookies, purple sweet potato egg rolls and mini milk-cream puffs. The party bags were also filled with Chinese treats such as White Rabbit sweets and coconut cookies. For the cake, I made a vanilla sponge with blackberry and lemon buttercream layers.
Most of the party decorations were from Pretty Little Party Shop which I simply adore. All the balloons, the yellow and bamboo food platters, the number foil balloon and little monstera leaf place cards were all from there. The party bags, mint-coloured paper plates and party bag items were from Ebay, another great place to find party decors.
The yellow tassel photo garland was an easy home made one that took me less than 15 minutes to put together, since I already had some photos printed out.
I went way overboard with food and catered for at least double the amount of people we had! There were still a load of food that got brought out after I took these photos. And whilst all the food and pretty stuff was happening inside the house, all the kids cared about was the mini swimming pool, the bouncy castle, ball pit and all the toys in the garden!
Happy 2nd birthday to our dear Isaac xoxo
