The Parlour | Canary Wharf

The Parlour* in Canary Wharf is a restaurant that I've been to a handful of times and have always enjoyed for its relaxed vibe and good casual dining. As they have a refreshed Autumn menu on offer, I popped in for lunch with a friend, and with Isaac in tow of course.

First off, I ordered Isaac's lunch and was delighted to see the variety of choices on the children's menu. Bangers and mash it was, but it was the babyccino that got Isaac's attention. His first babyccino! In the diddiest of cups, it was filled with warm milk and a frothy top sprinkled with a little cocoa powder. What a treat, and even more of a treat that hot drinks for the kids are on the house.

Isaac tucked right in and....... spilled it everywhere. Luckily the servers were super attentive and cleaned it all up in no time and brought him another one.

I needed a cino too, and this was a great one!

The starters arrived and they were HUGE. The chorizo scotch egg is a great twist on the classic with flavours further amped up by the smoked paprika mayo and the egg is cooked perfectly with a runny yolk. We also picked the n'duja spicy sausage flatbread with fresh mozzarella and rocket which was a hit with us, and some prawn lollipops with a sweet chilli and soya dip. For some reason, I was expecting the prawns to be in breadcrumbs, so was a little disappointed to see it in a batter.

My friend and I both went for the seabass with braised fennel, spinach and chorizo for the mains. The flavours were too clean for my liking but it was fresh tasting and a healthy, guilt-free choice.

The chips and fries are always good at the parlour and these Louisiana fries with cajun spice were no exception.

We were absolutely stuffed and sadly had no more room for desserts, otherwise I would have attempted at attacking the mixed berry crumble.

Now that I dine out most of the time with Isaac, baby-friendly restaurants just makes meal times and my life so much easier and I'm happy to say that The Parlour is exactly that. High chairs are available, and seating is spacious so I can have the pram next to the table, and of course the kids menu and free hot drinks for the little ones is fantastic.

There's a good range of food choices on the main menu and prices are all reasonable. I shall be back again very soon for my friend's baby shower which I've helped organised and it will be in the lovely cocktail lounge area. I can't wait to try the other nibbles on the menu and will share a post on that after the baby shower.

Thank you to The Parlour for a great baby-friendly lunch date!
