Garden Inspiration
I've been itching to get my garden sorted out especially with the glorious summer weather we've been having, but being new parents mean both me and G just haven't got round to doing it. However, I've spent numerous hours on Pinterest browsing for inspiration and getting quotes from landscapers to help do the job.
From the warped and discoloured decking to the uneven patch of grass and the lopsided fencing, everything needs to go. Having a nicely done outdoor space will be great for when Isaac is older and wants to play outside, not to mention the al fresco evenings that we can enjoy with friends and family.
I'm liking the idea of golden brown or dark brown fences or screens, with off-white to cream paving to replace the decking area and a patch of green grass which isn't full of weeds.
The willow screens across the fence provides a rustic element and I love the dark brown against the white pebbles. It's the colour scheme that I've already adopted for the in the downstairs of our home and I like the idea of extending that to the garden.
I've got my eye on this furniture set from Homebase, perfect for chilled out afternoons in the sun or evening hangouts.
The garden works can be costly though, and because I'm not planning on doing a lot of the works ourselves, I'm hunting around for the best quotes. I also don't want to be ripped off so I've done some researching on the material costs and then looking on priceyourjob.co.uk to see how much I should be charged for jobs. They've gathered quotes from tradesmen across the country in order to give accurate estimates on all types of home improvement jobs, and it's great for helping set a budget.
What would you put in your dream garden and do you have any tips for budgeting a garden?
I would love to hear.
